For more than 70 years, Australia has been waking up with Capilano’s 100% pure Australian honey, sourced from our network of hardworking Australian beekeeping families.

Capilano was founded in Brisbane in 1953 by brothers Bert and Tim Smith, who believed in creating a better way for Aussie beekeepers to sell their honey. The Capilano name has a nostalgic connection with the Capilano district near Vancouver in Canada. It means, “rushing water” in the language of the native Indigenous community who lived there, and is where Tim met his wife, Jill, while stationed in Canada as an RAAF flying instructor in World War II.

Australia’s favourite honey, Capilano honey is unchanged, unspoilt, unadulterated – completely natural, beekeeper-sourced, pure Australian honey. Renowned for its family friendly taste, Capilano pure Australian honey has been expertly blended by our master honey blender for more than 40 years. It is a taste that families across Australia and around the world know and trust. The delicious taste of Australia — Capilano honey — is just a squeeze away.

The Capilano Range

Smooth, sweet and perfectly balanced, generations of Aussies have grown up with Capilano Pure Honey. Made by Aussie bees and hand harvested by their beekeepers, our signature blend of eucalypt and ground flora honey is the taste Aussie’s know and love.

To bring you Capilano’s world-class nutritious honey, our beekeepers spend long hours driving between apiary sites, checking hives and collecting honey-filled combs, to give their bees the very best in-season flowers to forage upon.

This practice, known as migratory beekeeping, means Australian bees forage and produce honey from the richest source of floral diversity in the world, which in turn allows us to pack a range of premium specialty and single-origin honeys including Aussie Bush honey, Yellow Box honey, Manuka Floral honey and a certified Organic Raw Honey.

Authentic Australian Manuka honey is one of nature’s sweetest superfoods. Produced by bees that have foraged on the flowers of Leptospermum trees, Manuka honey is native to Australia and New Zealand. Used by Australian indigenous and Māori cultures for thousands of years, Manuka honey contains a heightened stable form of antibacterial activity, due to a naturally occurring chemical Methylglyoxal (MGO).

All Capilano Active Manuka Honey is independently tested to guarantee its Methylglyoxal (MGO) content, the key natural active compound responsible for the unique properties of Manuka honey. Higher MGO values reflect increased activity levels.

One of the most recent additions to the Capilano range, Hot Chilli Honey is crafted by our master honey blender, who expertly infuses premium Australian floral honey with fiery flecks of habanero chilli to create a delicious, sweet heat. With a perfect combination of sweet and spicy, Capilano Hot Chilli Honey is a convenient, fresh new way to add loads of flavour to any savoury dish.
