We are proud to work closely with our Australian beekeeper suppliers to develop an economically viable and environmentally sustainable apiculture industry. We support a range of projects in the beekeeping community to help secure beekeeping as a rewarding career option for future generations, in addition to our ongoing work with Australian Universities to promote the long-term protection of Australia’s honeybee colonies.
Our ESG Framework
Environmental, social and governance (ESG) is a framework for sustainability management, ethical practices, and conscious consumerism that we adopt at Hive and Wellness. Our framework focuses on three main areas:
Our commitment to environmental sustainability is reflected in our sustainable packaging practices. Through innovative measures, we have achieved significant milestones, including the integration of recycled content in our PET bottles. This has allowed us to eliminate 54 tonnes of virgin plastic, resulting in a reduction of CO2 emissions equivalent to taking 22 cars off the road annually. This is achieved through the incorporation of 30% recycled content in select PET table honey bottles and an average of 97% recycled content in our cartons. With solar panels installed at two of our packing sites, we are committed to furthering our understanding of potential initiatives and how we can further reduce our ecological footprint and striving for a greener future.
As a proud member of the Australia Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO), a leading not-for-profit focused on advancing a circular economy for packaging in Australia, we are committed to transparency and continuous improvement.
