Our Quality

We are committed to growing an economically viable and sustainable Australian apiculture industry through ethical sourcing and by supporting sustainable beekeeping practices. We believe that for the best quality product, high quality inputs are required.

Ethical sourcing includes a commitment to supporting working conditions through the global supply chain, as well as contributing to a sustainable industry and environment. We are proud to be involved in a range of projects that are designed to promote the long-term protection and sustainability of Australia’s honeybee colonies, and the protection and regeneration of key honey producing flora, both of which in turn contribute to the production of sustainable, clean, and premium quality honey. We partner with industry bodies, government, research bodies and universities.

We believe that pure Australian Honey is a unique and natural superfood.

With enzymes, prebiotics, trace amounts of vitamins and minerals, and minimal processing, Australian honey provides a deliciously healthy alternative to sugar and other sweeteners and spreads for consumers.

Several factors can influence not only the flavour of honey, but also the composition of the sugars naturally found in honey, and other inherent health properties.  While the type of flower the nectar is derived from influences flavour, it can also influence the ratio of different sugar, leading to differences in glycemic index.

The flower type, as well as the health of the bees can have even more impact on unique health properties, antioxidant activity, anti-microbial, anti-bacterial and even anti-inflammatory activity.

At Hive and Wellness, we believe in driving industry growth through research and development to bring consumers a better understanding about the healthy choice that honey can be.

Supporting research into the nutrition and health properties of honey.  We currently support projects on antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activity of Australian honey. We are also actively looking into the health benefits of hive products including Royal Jelly and Propolis.  These are products that bees produce that have unique properties and have been used in traditional medicine for centuries.

We are committed to delivering ‘better for you’ products, that drive the usage of honey for better health and nutrition outcomes. We conduct research to uncover the unique properties of specific types of honey, allowing us to create cutting-edge product offerings.
